Two months after the Southern Governors Forum met in Lagos State where they made a series of decisions including banning open grazing, they’re currently meeting in Enugu.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that the governors had set September 5 as the deadline for states in southern Nigeria to promulgate the anti-open grazing law.

Although only seven states – Ebonyi, Abia, Bayelsa, Rivers, Oyo, Ekiti, and Ondo – beat the deadline, more states have enacted the law banning open grazing.

Nigeria’s Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi has revealed that former acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), CP Ibrahim Magu, is still on the Federal Government’s payroll as a police officer despite his suspension by President Muhammadu Buhari.

President Muhammadu Buhari has again written to the National Assembly, seeking approval to borrow the sum of $4,054,476,863 billion and €710 million.

The request was made known in a letter read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan at plenary on Tuesday.

In the letter titled Addendum to Request For Senate’s Concurrent Approval Of Multilateral Fund Projects Under the 2018-2021 Federal Government External Borrowing (Rolling) Plan, Buhari explained that owing to ’emerging needs’, there is a need to raise more funds for some ‘critical projects’.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Agriculture, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has kicked against the clamour by southern Nigerians for the presidency to be zoned to them.

Ajuri Ngelale who is the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Public Affairs, on Monday, knocked Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for allegedly being tribalistic and aggressive in his pursuit for the collection of Value Added Taxes (VAT) by the South-South state.

Ngelale noted that the Federal Government has not been taking the money made in the oil-rich Niger Delta to Northern Nigeria.
