The Southern Governors have declared their support for the collection of Value Added Tax (VAT) by state governments, in place of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), they have as well taken a position on the zoning of 2023 Presidency.

Two months after the Southern Governors Forum met in Lagos State where they made a series of decisions including banning open grazing, they’re currently meeting in Enugu.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that the governors had set September 5 as the deadline for states in southern Nigeria to promulgate the anti-open grazing law.

Although only seven states – Ebonyi, Abia, Bayelsa, Rivers, Oyo, Ekiti, and Ondo – beat the deadline, more states have enacted the law banning open grazing.

The Federal Government has again assured Nigerians that all issues that led to the suspension of activities of the popular microblogging platform, Twitter, will be sorted out soon which would lead to bringing it back.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, gave the assurance while fielding questions from State House correspondents after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari has again written to the National Assembly, seeking approval to borrow the sum of $4,054,476,863 billion and €710 million.

The request was made known in a letter read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan at plenary on Tuesday.

Ajuri Ngelale who is the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Public Affairs, on Monday, knocked Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for allegedly being tribalistic and aggressive in his pursuit for the collection of Value Added Taxes (VAT) by the South-South state.
