Again, Jonathan, Buhari Hold Closed-Door Meeting In Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja as they held a closed-door meeting.

The former president came into Aso Rock at about 4 pm but it is was however unclear what the duo discussed as Jonathan did not speak to journalists after the meeting.

As it stands, the presidency has yet to disclose the agenda of the meeting. The ex-President had been working as ECOWAS special envoy to Mali, a position that has brought him in more regular contact with President Buhari in recent times.

Afenifere Snubs IPOB On Shutting Down Nigeria For One Month

Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, on Wednesday reacted to reports by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to shut down Nigeria.

Afenifere said it would not be part of the move to shut down Nigeria for one month.

Speaking exclusively with Africa Daily News, New York, a highly placed Afenifere chieftain, who wished not to be named, said shutting down Nigeria is not part of its agenda.

Southeast Leaders Declare End To Sit-At-Home

A meeting of Southeast leaders ended in Enugu on Tuesday with a declaration that no further sit-at-home would be observed in the zone.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that despite the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, coming out to say it has cancelled the every Monday sit-at-home, the region has remained under lockdown on the first day of the week, with some unknown persons enforcing what IPOB called “non-existing order.”

However, in their meeting which was attended by political, religious and traditional leaders, they said such order would not be condoned any further.
