2023: Obi Disowns Presidential Campaign Posters

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, Mr. Peter Obi, has disowned his posters being circulated both offline and online, through different social media platforms.

The former Anambra State governor, in a statement by his media aide, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, disclosed his office had been inundated with sought-for-clarifications on the presidential posters being circulated through various media platforms.

Obienyem said Obi was not in any way connected to, neither had he contracted or authorised anybody or organisation, to promote such on his behalf.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has called for the full implementation of the National Livestock Transformation Programme (NLTP) to address the problem of clashes between farmers and herders.

The governor made the call when he addressed State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

Obaseki said that the people of Edo State had resolved that ranching was a private business and should be treated as such.

Biafra: IPOB Agitation Has Been Politicised – Uzodinma

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has claimed the agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been heavily politicised as it no longer a mere fight for Biafra.

He also insisted that the sit-at-home order by IPOB has been politicised while also making a case for its abolishment.

The Zamfara state House of Assembly on Tuesday suspended two lawmakers over their alleged collision with bandits.

The lawmakers who were identified as Yusuf Muhammad, Anka representing Anka Constituency, and Ibrahim T. Tukur Bakura, representing Bakura constituency –  were suspended for three months by the State parliament.

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday bowed to pressure as they adopted electronic transmission of election results by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

The new position of the legislators was contained in the Conference Committee report submitted to the chamber on Tuesday.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should zone its presidential ticket to the Southeast.

Ikpeazu explained that the Southeast has not produced Nigeria’s president; hence PDP should give its ticket to the zone.
