Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammad Buhari on Media and Publicity, said the president deserves credit for tackling insecurity, especially Boko Haram and farmer/herder crisis.

Shehu made this claim on Friday while presenting a paper, tagged ‘Fake news: Challenges of information management’, at the 10th anniversary of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), in Katsina State.

“It is a fact that the Buhari administration is the only government of Nigeria that has put forward a workable solution to the herder-farmer challenge in all the years since independence.

Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation (AGF), has denied any involvement with the recent action of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Willie Obiano, governor of Anambra state.

The EFCC, in a letter dated November 15 and addressed to the comptroller-general of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), had asked to be informed whenever Obiano is seen attempting to travel out of the country.

Reacting to the development, Don Adinuba, the state commissioner for information, in a statement earlier on Thursday, said claimed that Malami was responsible for EFCC’s action.

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has called on the citizens of the State to reject the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections.

El-Rufai who spoke at an empowerment programme in Kaduna asserted that the PDP will only destroy his good legacies and also drag the state and the entire country backward if allowed to return to power.

The House of Representatives has rejected a bill to allow citizens to drag the government to court for failing to provide social welfare.

The bill sought to make justiciable the fundamental objectives as contained in sections 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 of the Constitution.

The lawmakers rejected the bill after the debate on the bill, which was sponsored by Sergius Ogun from Edo State.
