The President of Malawi, Lazarus Chakwera on Monday announced the sack of his entire cabinet over graft concerns, vowing to ‘confront all forms of lawless conduct by public officials’.

Speaking in a national address, Chakwera said; ‘I have dissolved my entire cabinet effective immediately, and all the functions of cabinet revert to my office until I announce a reconfigured cabinet in two days,’

The Nigerian National Assembly yesterday re-amended the Electoral Act Amendment Bill as it approved both direct and indirect primaries which were the contentious areas before now.

Both chambers made the re-amendment in separate plenary sessions. In the Senate, the lawmakers also added the consensus clause for the nomination of candidates by political parties for elective positions.
