2023 Race: Atiku Officially Declares To Run For President

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday formally declared his intention to run for the presidency in 2023 less than two months to the PDP primaries.
He made the official announcement during an event at the International Conference Centre in Abuja which was monitored by Africa Daily News, New York on a Facebook live video.
Atiku assured that if elected, he would focus on unity, security, economy, education and devolving more resources and powers to the various federating units in the country.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has again blamed the Federal Government for the ongoing strike in public universities lambasting it for not showing commitment to education.

Unknown Gunmen Attack Country Home Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Leader

The country home of the President of Apex Igbo sociocultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, George Obiozor was on Saturday attacked by gunmen in Awomamma community, Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State.

Electoral Act: Court Orders Malami To Remove Section 84(12)

A Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia, Abia State on Friday ordered the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to immediately delete Section 84 (12) of the Amended New Electoral Act.

In a ruling, Justice Evelyn Anyadike held that the section was unconstitutional, invalid, illegal, null, void and of no effect whatsoever and cannot stand, as it is in violation of the clear provisions of the Constitution.
