Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has stated that he remains the most credible Presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to fly the party’s flag in next year’s general election.

In the race for leadership for 2023, Dr David Olofu, the Commissioner for Finance in Benue, has opined that the Idoma nation is well-positioned for producing a governor for the North-Central state in 2023.

Olofu made this statement when talking with newsmen on Sunday in Makurdi.

The Idoma tribe who has the second-largest population of people in the state after the Tiv, have never produced a governor since the state was created out of the then Benue Plateau State in 1967. The Governorship position has been an exclusive of the Tiv group that constitutes the majority.

There was turmoil in the APC party secretariat in Ekiti as aggrieved members protested on Saturday over the alleged plot to impose the Deputy Speaker of the  House of Assembly, Mr Hakeem Jamiu, for a second term.

Some of the aggrieved APC members, who were from Irepodun/Ifelodun State Constituency II, accused the State  Working Committee, led by Mr Paul Omotoso, of working with some of the individuals in government to force Jamiu on them.
