Former Minister of State for Education and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, says 3,150 Nigerians raised money to purchase his ₦100 million Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.

The minister narrated that even a local farmer in Nasarawa brought him 150 yams to sell as part of his contribution to procure the forms.

Nwajiuba made the revelation while reacting to a report making the rounds that his presidential campaign was sponsored by some oil moguls.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that there was a tight deadlock in the Kogi West PDP Senatorial primary election where Dino Melaye scored 88 and TJ Yusuf polled 88 votes, which led to a rerun election on Tuesday.

In the rerun election conducted on Tuesday, Hon. T. J. Yusuf defeated Sen. Dino Melaye by 163 to 99 votes to pick the PDP ticket.

2023: Emefiele Strikes Off Suit Against INEC, Malami

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele has expressly withdrawn the suit he filed against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Attorney-General of the Federation over his presidential ambition.

Emefiele, through his counsel, S.T. Maliki, told Justice Ahmed Mohammed that a notice of discontinuance had been filed and served on the defendants in the matter.

The development occurred shortly after the matter was called.

Maliki, who held the brief of Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, said though the matter was scheduled for the mention, they had Emefiele’s instruction to withdraw the suit.
