Less than 24 hours after joining Labour Party to pursue his ambition, former Anambra State governor and presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, has maintained that he is not desperate to become Nigeria’s President.

He, however, said what he was desperate about was to see Nigeria work for the teeming youths and other Nigerians facing hardship across the country.

In a landmark ruling, a Federal High Court in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital has cleared the former President Goodluck Jonathan as being eligible to run for the 2023 Presidential contest.

Peter Obi who is the former governor of Anambra State, has joined the Labour Party in a move that was completely unpredicted.

On Friday, Obi announced this on Twitter after registering with the party in his Agulu Ward in Anambra State.

As things tighten up in court for the detained former Governor of Imo State, Senator Anayo Rochas Okorocha, he  has pleaded for a Federal High Court in Abuja to compel the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to immediately release him on bail.

Okorocha on Friday predicated his bail request on the ground that he is a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and that his political ambition would be jeopardized unless granted bail.

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has been declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s general election.
