Sallah: Senate Begins Three-Week Recess

The Nigerian Senate, on Wednesday, announced the adjournment of plenary for 19 days to enable it proceed on the Sallah break.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, accordingly, announced July 19, 2022, as the resumption date.

2023: How Delegates Refunded Money I Paid Them – APC Senator

The lawmaker representing Kwara Central district, Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe, has recounted how he got a refund of the cash he gave to delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the party’s primaries after he lost to his opponent.

He made this known during an interview on Channels Television which was monitored by Africa Daily News, New York.

According to him, the funds given to the delegates were for logistics.

Oloriegbe is among several other members of the party in the Senate who lost their party’s ticket to seek re-election into the red chamber of the National Assembly.

War: Russia Blacklists 43 Canadians, Canada Fires Back

Russia yesterday announced a ban on 43 more Canadians from entering its territory, in response to sanctions imposed by Ottawa over Moscow’s offensive in Ukraine.

Then, Canada retaliated by imposing further penalties on six Russian nationals as well as 46 businesses involved in the nation’s defence industry.
