‘True Leader’: NMA Lauds VP Osinbajo’s Local Medical Treatment

While reacting to his recent surgery to correct a fracture, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kogi chapter, has openly lauded the Nigerian Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbanjo, for opting to undergo the medical treatment locally, while describing him as ”a true leader”.

Africa Daily News, New York had also reported that the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, had on Saturday, underwent a successful surgery for a leg fracture at the Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos State.

The Governor Bello Matawalle led-Zamfara State Government has announced the suspension of the Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto of Tsafe Local Government Area, Aliyu Marafa, over his decison to confer a chieftaincy title to a ‘notorious bandit leader’.

Secretary to the State Government, Kabiru Sardauna, made this announcement in a statement which was made available to Africa Daily News, New York on Monday.

Recall that Aleru was turbaned as Sarkin Fulani (Chief of Fulani) of Yandoto Emirate by the emir.

About two cases of the dreaded Marburg virus has been identified in Ghana, the first time the Ebola-like disease has been found in the West African nation, health authorities announced Sunday.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that earlier in the month, blood samples taken from two people in the southern Ashanti region suggested the Marburg virus.

The samples were sent to the Pasteur Institute in Senegal which confirmed the diagnosis, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) revealed.

All eight crew members of a Ukrainian-operated cargo plane carrying military goods were killed on Sunday when crashed in Greece en route from Serbia to Bangladesh, the Serbian defence minister has confirmed.

31 Killed In Sudan Tribal Clashes Near Ethiopia Border

No fewer than 31 people have been killed in clashes this week between two tribes in Sudan’s Blue Nile state bordering Ethiopia, the security services said on Saturday.

They added that another 39 people had been wounded and 16 shops torched during the violence, which erupted on Monday over a land dispute between the Berti and Hawsa tribes.
