Apprehension As Taiwan Detects Guided Missiles Fired By China

The Taiwan Defence Ministry has on Thursday confirmed that the China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) had fired “several Tongfeng-class guided missiles” into the waters north-east and south-west of the island on Thursday afternoon.

A ministry spokesperson said shortly that Taiwan’s armed forces had also tracked the firings in real time after they were detected at 1:56 pm (0556 GMT) and had activated related defence systems.

The ministry condemned “this irrational action that is undermining regional peace.”

Tipper Crushes Father Of 30 Children To Death In Kogi – FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said a father of 30 children was killed on Monday when a tipper rammed his motorcycle in Kogi.

This was announced in Lokoja by Corps Commander Stephen Dawulung, the Kogi FRSC Sector Commander.

The tipper truck struck and killed the guy, 60-year-old commercial motorcycle Abdulsalam Ibrahim, along with his passenger at Lokoja’s Ganaja Junction.

‘The incident was tragic and very unfortunate,’ he said.

He regretted that the accident cut short the life of the bread-winner of 30 children.

The Acting FRSC Corps Marshal, Mr. Dauda Biu, has ordered the 37 Sector Commanders across the nation to impound any motorcycle without appropriate registration.

Biu issued this directive in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by the Corps Public Education Officer, Mr. Bisi Kazeem.

“All unregistered motorcycles are to be impounded. The owners are required to complete full registration of the motorcycles before they are released.

‘Operatives may not issue a notice of offense ticket to the operators. All impounded motorbikes must be fully documented, however,’’ he added.
