The Federal Government of Nigeria has explained that the introduction of digitalised cash transfer payment in the country was put in place to help in addressing some lapses encountered while operating the analog payment system.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, gave this explanation while speaking at the official flag-off of the grant for several vulnerable groups as well as the digitised payment for conditional cash transfer which was held in Dutse, Jigawa State on Friday.

10 ‘Summarily Killed’ By troops In Cameroon After Crackdown
Troops in Cameroon’s Northwest Region have summarily executed no fewer than 10 people following a crackdown against anglophone separatists, Human Rights Watch (HRW) confirmed on Friday.
Its report is the most recent in a spate of claims made by human rights watchdogs in the conflict between security forces and militants who speak English and want home rule in the Cameroonian nation with a majority of francophones.

The President of Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned of another serious nuclear disaster similar to that of Chernobyl in 1986 if something is urgently done to stop Russia’s advance.
Speaking on Thursday, Zelensky referred to Russia as a ‘terrorist state’ that is holding the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant hostage.
At Ukraine donor conference in Copenhagen, the leader said Russia is more dangerous than the Soviet Union which tried to hide the Chernobyl tragedy.

Peru President’s Home Raided By Police In Search Of Relative
The Peruvian Police on have laid siege on the private home of the Peruvian President Pedro Castillo where they had carried out a massive search for his corruption-accused sister-in-law which had come after a court-issued search warrant.

NDLEA Confiscates Cannabis Sativa Worth ₦30m In Nasarawa
The Nasarawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has confirmed that the agency has just confiscated 1,659 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa worth about ₦30 million.

FG Blasted For Describing Killings By Herdsmen As ‘Conflicts’
The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA have openly described the branding as mere ‘conflict’ by the the Nigerian Government of some of the aggressions and killings of the southern farmers by Fulani herdsmen as wicked and insensitive.
