UNICEF Frowns At Ethiopian Air Strike That Hit Kindergarten

The UN children’s agency UNICEF has categorically condemned the latest Ethiopian air strike that had reportedly “hit a kindergarten” in the rebel-held Tigray region, thereby killing at least four people including two children in the school.

The Ethiopian government had also openly denied the fact that they had targeted some of the civilian areas in Friday’s air raid and accused the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) of staging deaths.

China Validates Death Sentence Of US Citizen Over Murder

A Chinese court has upheld the death penalty for a US citizen over the murder of his girlfriend, calling the conviction ‘accurate’ and sentence ‘appropriate’.

Shadeed Abdulmateen had been found guilty in April of stabbing the 21-year-old woman in the face and neck multiple times when they met to talk about disagreements in their relationship.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that he had at that point appealed against the death sentence handed to him.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa has cautioned Nigerians not to travel to Northern Cyprus going forward warning them of the implications.

Speaking to State House correspondents in Abuja yesterday, Dabiri-Erewa said there is little the Federal Government can do to diplomatically resolve issues in the territory because Northern Cyprus is not recognised by the international community except Turkey.

Reports reaching the desk of Africa Daily News, New York has it that Russia is burning off significant amounts of natural gas as the cost of electricity in Europe soars.

According to experts, the gas would have initially been shipped to Germany.

A former British ambassador to Myanmar, Vicky Bowman, and her husband were on Friday detained by the military authorities in Myanmar.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that she and her husband are both being accused of violating visa laws, which carries a maximum five-year prison sentence.

Between 2002 and 2006, Ms. Bowman served as an ambassador to Myanmar. She is wed to Htein Lin, a Burmese artist and former political detainee.
