Christian elders have waded into the rape accusation against Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo by celebrity photographer, Busola Dakolo.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) revealed this on Sunday in a statement by its Acting General Secretary Joseph Daramola.

CAN advised the general public to allow the investigating team by the elders to come out with their findings.

UNESCO lists new sites including Jaipur as World Heritage

The United Nations cultural body UNESCO – yesterday added the Indian “Pink City” of Jaipur, the ruins Liangzhu City in China and the Plain of Jars located in central Laos to its World Heritage list.

The additions followed a vote.

The fortified commercial city of Jaipur was founded in the 18th century by Sawai Jai Singh II.

Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson has offered automatic employment to 336 professionals from various disciplines including 102 PhD holders.

A breakdown of the 336 beneficiaries showed that 102 PhD holders drawn from the state and other Ijaw-speaking communities across the country were absorbed as lecturers into the state-owned tertiary institutions.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media Relations, Fidelis Soriwei, said Dickson presented employment letters to the beneficiaries on Saturday.

A 104-year-old World War ll Veteran of the Nigerian Army,  Adamo Aduku on Saturday urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to pay his pension.

Court orders forfeiture of Diezani’s $40m worth of jewelry

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday ordered the temporary forfeiture of 2,149 pieces of jewelry and a customised gold iPhone, seized from Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, to the Federal Government.

The items, valued at $40million (about N14.4b), were recovered from the home of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo ordered their temporary forfeiture as prayed for by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The commission, in an ex-parte application moved by Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, said the items were suspected to have been acquired with illicitly acquired funds.

2 killed, 21 injured in Lagos pipeline explosion

Two persons were killed and 21 others injured on Thursday in a pipeline explosion at Ijegun, on the outskirts of Lagos.

No fewer than 100 persons were killed in a similar incident at Ijegun 11 years ago.

Lagos State Emergency Management (LASEMA) boss Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu however, put the number of the injured at 12.

National Agency for Food and Drugs Adminstration and Control (NAFDAC) has intercepted 21 containers of spoilt frozen fish at Tincan Island Port in Lagos.

The Director General of NAFDAC, Prof. Moji Adeyeye, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that fish is among items banned for importation into the country by the Federal Government.

Boeing Co on Wednesday said it would give $100 million to organizations to help families affected by the deadly crashes of the company’s 737 MAX planes in Indonesia and Ethiopia.

The multiyear payout is independent of lawsuits filed by families of the 346 people killed in the two crashes, which happened in October 2018 and March of this year, a Boeing spokesman said.
