Counter-terror police were on Friday probing a mass stabbing at a shopping centre in northwest England that left five people injured and needing hospital treatment. The 2019 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed who made peace last year with bitter foe Eritrea. He was awarded the prize for his efforts to “achieve peace and international cooperation”. Mr Abiy’s peace deal with Eritrea ended a 20-year military stalemate following their 1998-2000 border war.

An Iranian oil tanker was hit by suspected missile strikes near the Saudi port of Jeddah on Friday, causing the oil to leak into the Red Sea, the ship’s owner said.

No fewer than 30 people escaped death when a  luxury bus belonging to a popular transportation company carrying passengers from Enugu to Lagos, caught fire at Igbariam axis on the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.
