Obi Of Onitsha; Achebe Decries Rate Of Youth Restiveness

The Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council and Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe has decried the alarming rate of youth restiveness in the country which he said needs urgent attention of families, government and religious institutions.

Achebe, however, advised parents to assist government, traditional institutions and stakeholders by reporting such recalcitrant children to the palaces of traditional rulers in their communities or law enforcement authorities for reforms.

Youths Protest Over Awful Minna-Suleja, Minna-Bida Roads

Hundreds of youths early Monday morning blocked the Minna-Suleja and the Minna-Bida roads in Niger State protesting against the dilapidated state of the federal highways.

The two road networks are the major access to and out of Niger State.

The youths carrying placards sat on the road thereby stopping vehicular movement in and out of the state, they also vowed to continue the protest until the Niger State and federal governments accede to their demands.

An extremely hot porridge being transported in a tricycle in Bauchi has claimed the lives of three children, aged between nine months and nine years.

The porridge was transported in a jumbo-size plastic flask when the tricycle plunged into a pothole and upturned, emptying its contents on its occupants who suffered severe burns and later died.

2020: Petroleum Ministry Budgets ₦42M For Sewage Disposal

Ministry of Petroleum Resources has budgeted a sum of ₦42,980,935 for disposal of sewage in the 2020 appropriation bill. The ministry also budgeted ₦104 million for local travel, transport and training.

This was contained in a document which gives a breakdown of the ministry’s 2020 appropriation bill obtained by newsmen.

The lion which escaped from Kano Zoological Garden is yet to be captured and returned to its cage in the Zoo, an official has disclosed.
