US Troops Exit Syria To Stay ‘Temporarily’ In Iraq – Esper

The American troops withdrawing from Syria will stay in Iraq “temporarily” before returning to the United States, US Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Tuesday.

In an interview with CNN, Esper said the US forces were pulling out in phases and had now moved from the “immediate zone of attack” to a northeastern corridor out of the country.

“Then we’ll have another phase that will draw all the forces out. We will temporarily position in Iraq before bringing the troops home. They will be coming home,” he said.

Over 100 Elephants Die In Botswana In Suspected Anthrax

More than 100 elephants have died in Botswana in the past two months partly because of a suspected anthrax outbreak, the government has said.“Preliminary investigations suggest the elephants are dying from anthrax, whilst some died from drought effects,” a Department of Wildlife and National Parks statement said.

“Due to the severe drought, elephants end up ingesting soil while grazing and get exposed to the anthrax bacteria spore,” it said.

Boeing on Tuesday replaced the chief of its commercial plane division, the most significant executive departure since the 737 MAX grounding plunged the company into crisis seven months ago.

A Federal High Court judge serving in Akure, Ondo State, Justice Abdul Dogo, was on Tuesday abducted by gunmen.
