Islamic Body Warns Against Killing For Ambition

An Islamic group, Jama’atu Nasir Islam (JNI), has urged the electorate to be orderly as they cast their votes, even as it warned politicians against killing since the ambition of an individual is not worth the blood of any Kogi citizen.

The chairman of JNI, Kogi State Chapter, Ambassador Usman Bello, handed down the warning on Sunday at the occasion of the Maulud Nabiyi celebration in Lokoja.

I’ll Rule With Fear Of God – Wada

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate in Kogi State, Musa Wada, has promised to govern the state with fear of God if elected.

Wada, who stated this during a campaign rally at Kabba, said that fairness, justice and equity would be his guiding principle and not religion and tribalism.

He assured that each part of the state would be treated equally and fairly in the distribution of appointments and amenities.

Key stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra South senatorial district have met in Nnewi to strategize ahead of the 2021  governorship election.

NSITF Targets Informal Sector In Expansion Project

In a bid to ensure that all workers in the country are well protected and taken care of from injury, the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has commenced widening its net to cover workers in the informal sector.

This is even as the organization has paid over N3 billion by September 2019 as compensation to different degrees of injury including death.

Anambra: Igbo Union from Belgium Offers Free Medicals

A 16-man team of medical personnel from Ghent, Belgium recently brought succour to many families in Anambra State during a 13-day free medical mission at Enugu-Ukwu General Hospital.

Led by Mr Okechukwu Emeh, a philanthropist and President of Igbo Union, Ghent, Belgium, the exercise attracted several people with different health challenges that were already compounded by inability to afford the medical bills. They were treated free of charge during the exercise.

2023: Count Igbo Out Of Nigeria If Chance Is Denied -Ezeife

Former Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has threatened to back any option taken by Igbo people in 2023, including pulling out of Nigeria if they are denied the chance to produce Nigerian president in 2023.

Bolivian Military Asks Morales To Resign

The commander of Bolivia’s armed forces called on embattled President Evo Morales to resign amid a growing furor over his disputed re-election.

Morales should step aside to help ensure stability in the country, armed forces commander Williams Kaliman told reporters on Sunday, heaping pressure on the leftist leader as he deals with a widening backlash over a disputed election.

No Crack In The House Of Reps Says Spokesman

 The spokesman for the House of Representatives, Rep. Benjamin Kalu (APC-Abia), says there is no crack among the members of the House of Representatives.

Ihedioha Will Focus On Vocational Technical Education

Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha has declared that his administration will give priority to vocational and technical education in order to tackle unemployment in the State.

This was made known by the state Commissioner for Education, Professor  Viola Adaku Onwuliri, during an official visit to the Imo State College of Education, White Uboma.

Kenya, Lalong Agrees To Establish Tea Factory In Plateau

Plateau State Governor and Chairman of Northern Governors Forum, Simon Lalong said he has concluded arrangement for the establishment of tea processing factory in Plateau in collaboration with Kenya Government.

I Was Misquoted On State Of Federal Roads – Fashola

Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola has said that he was misquoted on his recent comment about Nigerian roads, saying a section of the media quoted him out of context.
