Last week, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) report for the third quarter (Q3) of 2019, which showed that GDP expanded to 2.28 per cent (year-on-year), in real terms, in the period under review, compared to the 2.12 per cent recorded in the preceding quarter.

Senate May Pass 2020 Appropriation Bill Thursday

The ₦10.33 trillion 2020 budget proposal presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly may be passed by the upper legislative chamber on Thursday.

This is with a view to bringing the budget cycle effective 2020 fiscal year to January to December from the current May to April and the passage will be coming less than two months after the budget estimate was presented by the President to a joint session of the National Assembly on October 8.

Miyetti Allah Partners Security Agency To Expose Criminals

The Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Nasarawa State chapter, Mohammed Hussaini, has said the association is partnering security agencies to expose criminals in the state.

More than 60 doctors wrote an open letter published Monday saying they feared Julian Assange’s health was so bad that the WikiLeaks founder could die inside a top-security British jail.

The 48-year-old Australian is still fighting a US bid to extradite him from Britain on charges filed under the Espionage Act that could see him given a sentence of up to 175 years in a US prison.

OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Oando Licensee, has said importing fuel under the current arrangement does not make economic sense for any investor.

Akwa Ibom State government has debunked claims by some House of Assembly members that roads constructed by Governor Emmanuel administration have failed.

Two members of the Assembly, Victor Ekwere and Mark Esset, had confronted the Commissioner for Works, Ephraim Inyang-Eyen with the allegation that about 97 percent of all roads constructed in local government areas by Emmanuel’s administration collapsed immediately after their inauguration.

Students of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, and two journalists are counting their losses after fire razed down their compound in Gwalameji area of Bauchi metropolis on Sunday.
