Rendition: You Can’t Try Kanu In Nigeria, IPOB Challenges FG

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has stressed that no court in Nigeria has the authority to try its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, maintaining that his rendition was illegal.

In a statement which was made available to Africa Daily News, New York, the Spokesperson of the group, Emma Powerful, said the Nigerian court has violated local and international laws by allegedly condoning Kanu’s rendition.

‘Extraordinary rendition is a serious crime under international law. No civilised nation in the world, more so, those under common law system of justice, condone kidnapping and extrajudicial transfer of suspects across international borders, without the authority

Father Of Four Killed: As School Wall Collapses In Ondo

A carpenter named Ademola Lawrence was killed when the wall of a crumbling classroom at the Local Authority Primary School, established 67 years ago in the Okitipupa neighbourhood of Ondo state.

According to information obtained by Africa Daily News, the victim, a father of four who was 52 years old, was carrying out bricklaying duties when something unexpected occurred.

According to a source, the victim decided to work as a bricklayer after finding it difficult to find employment in the community.

Allow Us Buy Nnamdi Kanu’s Medications, IPOB Lawyer Tells DSS

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the legal representative of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has appealed to the Department of State Services (DSS) to allow family members to provide funds to be used for the medical treatment of his client. 

Ejiofor, the lawyer of the pro-Biafran group made the call on Monday, after returning from a court-ordered routine visit to the DSS headquarters in Abuja, where Kanu is being held under solitary confinement for over 14 months.

At least seven people were confirmed dead yesterday when a commercial bus reportedly caught fire in the Iyana Oworo area of Lagos State.
