32m Nigerians Do Not Pay Tax – DG, Budget Office

The Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, Ben Akabueze, has lamented that Nigeria has a revenue-generating challenge, as over 32 million citizens have blatantly refused to pay its lawful tax.

The director-general pointed out that with an inflation forecast of 13 percent for the 2022 fiscal year, and the Federal Government’s aggregate expenditure is projected to be ₦16.39 trillion, 12.5 percent higher than the 2021 budget, Nigeria is ‘assets-rich’.
