Copyright: Sabinus Slams ₦1.1bn Suit On Gala And Peak Milk

Popular Nigerian Comedian and content creator, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel, popularly known as Sabinus, has slammed a one billion naira suit on Friesland Foods Wamco Nigeria Plc, the makers of Peak Milk.

The comedian accused the company of using his trademark ‘something hooge’ without his consent.

Sabinus, addressing the company through his lawyer, Stanley Alieke, noted that the phrase was his registered trademark and therefore, demanded ₦1 billion in compensation and damages.

Residents in Kabba, Kogi State, have been thrown into confusion following an explosion which has left an undisclosed number of people dead and many people injured. 

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that the ugly explosion occurred opposite Mannajot Petrol Station on Sunday evening, with a yet-to-be-ascertained number of people feared injured.

Details of the blast are still sketchy but a security source linked the bomb explosion to the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād.

U.S. DOJ To Investigate Police Response To Uvalde Shootings

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced a review of the entirety of the response by local and federal authorities to last week’s school shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

In a statement on Sunday that was sighted by Africa Daily News, New York, DOJ spokesperson Anthony Coley said that Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin had asked the department to conduct a Critical Incident Review.

Coley also said that the DOJ’s Office of Community Oriented Policing will handle the investigation.

Lithuanians have donated more than five million euros to a public fundraising campaign that was set up to buy a combat drone for Ukrainian forces fighting Russia’s invasion.

The money needed to buy a Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drone was raised in three-and-a-half days which came to an end yesterday evening in the country of 2.8 million people.

“Probably for the first time in history, citizens of one state can buy and donate such heavy weapons to another state,” said influencer Andrius Tapinas, founder of the online broadcaster Laisves TV which launched the initiative.

In a deadly freak accident that occurred during a pandemonium in Rivers State, the Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the death of 31 persons in a stampede that occurred during a church program in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Saturday.

No fewer than than twenty-six people were declared missing on Sunday morning after a ferry ran out of fuel and sank in bad weather off the coast of Indonesia, officials confirmed.
