The aftermath of the recent assault on a News reporter by Policemen has had the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA blasting the police occasion while describing as an act of aggressive and misplaced terrorism, the shooting of The Nation’s correspondent by operatives of the Nigeria Police in Osun State.

Amid the ongoing political activities in Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Abuja for Madrid, Spain on a state visit.

The president’s spokesperson, Femi Adesina, in a statement, yesterday, said the visit is on the invitation of the Spanish President, Pedro Sanchez.

Suspected bandits on Tuesday killed over 30 members of the local vigilantes otherwise known as Yan Sakai in a gunfight near Gidan Dan Inna community in Auki district, Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

A resident of the community whose brothers were killed, Idris Ambomade narrated the incident to reporters in an interview.

Hunters in the North-East have reportedly killed a Boko Haram commander and his deputy during a clash in Shaffa Taku, a village in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

In a coordinated crack operation which involved officials of the International Police (INTERPOL) and some local security forces, three Nigerians have been nabbed over alleged global scam.

The conflicts between Ukraine and Russia seems not to be seeing an end anytime soon as the Russian military on Tuesday said it has found the bodies of 152 Ukrainian fighters in the underground bunkers of the Azovstal steelworks it captured in Mariupol earlier this month after a protracted siege.

No fewer than 100 people have been confirmed dead following clashes between gold miners in northern Chad, Defence Minister General Daoud Yaya Brahim have disclosed.

A worker in First Bank of Nigeria PLC, Omoniyi Victor met his waterloo on Monday when he was docked in Ikorodu, Lagos State, for allegedly conspiring with others to divert and steal ₦303,000.

Omoniyi was charged with conspiracy and theft.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the matter in court.
