US Official Decries Rising Spate Of Russian Strikes In Ukraine

One of the Senior United States defence officials has revealed that the Russian Nation has increased its rate of destructive strikes by launching some more strikes on Ukraine in the past week than America has seen in recent weeks.

The official had also revealed that the Ukrainians are using the (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems) HIMARS that were delivered to their country in security assistance packages “very well.”

‘Resignation Is Not Enough’ – HURIWA Calls For Ex-CJN’s Arrest

In lieu of his recent resignation from office, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been told to arrest and detain the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad immediately.

This was after Muhammad had tendered in his resignation as the CJN on Monday, whike citing some health issues.

Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, had also revealed that the resignation of Muhammad was not actually enough to clear him of corruption allegations which had been levelled against him by the 14 justices of the Supreme Court.

3 Dead, 50 Injured In Amtrak Train Derailment In Missouri

In an unfortunate incident, three people have been declared dead and no fewer than 50 have been injured when an Amtrak train which was carrying more than 200 passengers have derailed in northern Missouri on Monday.

The derailment had occurred after the train hit a dump truck at an uncontrolled crossing. The accident killed two on board and a person in the truck, officials said.

Eight cars and two locomotives derailed, Amtrak revealed, while leaving all but one car lying on its side along the track surrounded by grass and farmland.

Ivory Coast on Tuesday revealed that it would spend around $430 million in a three-year campaign which would be geared towards supporting young people in border regions at risk from Sahel jihadists.
