Music legend, Sir Victor Uwaifo has passed away. He was 80 years old.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that in his lifetime, Uwaifo was a prolific songwriter, sculptor, music, and instrument inventor.

Popularly known as ‘Guitar boy’, the legendary Nigerian died after a brief illness.

Uganda’s constitutional court has scrapped a controversial anti-pornography law whose provisions included a ban on wearing miniskirts in public, in a decision hailed by women’s rights campaigners on Tuesday.

The judgement, which was sighted by Africa Daily News posited that the 2014 legislation, which had been dubbed the ‘anti-miniskirt law,’ was ‘inconsistent with or in contravention of the constitution of the Republic of Uganda.’
