Police Parade 49 Suspects For Kidnapping And Other Crimes

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, on Friday, paraded 49 suspects and a fake police officer, who the police said were responsible for the high rate of criminality in Abuja.

The FCT Police Commissioner Bala Ciroma, while parading the suspects said that they were arrested at different locations in the Federal Capital Territory.

He said the arrest was as a result of the synergy and cooperation among the security agencies.

According to him,  exhibits recovered included seven firearms, two ammunition, 12 cars, 16 cutlasses, charms and others.

70 FRSC Officers To Face Prosecution Over Alleged Fraud

No fewer than 70 officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have been arrested for alleged extortion during patrol and in the corps facilities, the Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi has said.

Oyeyemi disclosed this on Thursday during a strategic session with unit commanders at the FRSC Academy, Udi in Enugu State.

The operatives of the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service have arrested six illegal immigrants at Idiroko borders in the state.

“When you aid unknown people into your country, without even knowing their aim, it is a big risk,” the comptroller of immigration, Doris Braimah said on Tuesday while parading the suspects.

CBN: ₦500 And ₦1000 Are The Most Commonly Faked Notes

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Wednesday, said that a total of 119,663 pieces of counterfeit notes with a nominal value of ₦98.82 million was recorded in 2018.

The bank said this in the Currency Operations 2018 Annual Report, posted on its website.

The CBN said the figure indicated a decline of 1.30 percent in volume terms and an increase of 5.77 percent in value terms when compared with 118,126 pieces with a nominal value of ₦93.43 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2017.

Three more women have come forward to police to accuse Cuba Gooding Jr. of sexual misconduct. According to “The People”, claims made by the unidentified women are being investigated and no new charges against Gooding have been filed.

Gooding’s attorney, Mark J. Heller, in a statement the claims that the three women are not “credible.”

The Commissioner of Police in Imo, Mr Rabiu Ladodo, has given assurance that the force will arrest and prosecute the killers of a bus driver in the state, Chinedu Ogoke.

The commissioner gave the assurance in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Owerri on Monday.

Ogoke was shot and killed by gunmen last week at a popular “Malaysian market” in Obowo Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo on Oct. 9.

The gunmen stormed the “Malaysian market” located in Umungwa, Obowo LGA and dispossessed traders of their belongings, including money.
