The battle against insurgency and banditry in the North East has received a boost with the sustained training programme for Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), vigilance group and hunters on counter-terrorism to provide intelligence gathering for the military to secure members of their communities.

The volunteer security outfit, made up of young men and women have contributed immensely to the success recorded by the military on the fight against Boko Haram in the North East. The Department of State Services (DSS) has said that it has uncovered syndicated plots by certain elements to destabilise the country with protests at major Nigeria cities during the yuletide.

Kidnaped Abuja Monarch Released After ₦6.5 Million Ransom

The traditional ruler of Rubochi in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Mohammed Ibrahim Pada, who was kidnaped last Wednesday has been released.

The monarch was said to have regained his freedom after his relative paid ₦6.5 million to the kidnappers.

Thanksgiving Day turned into a nightmare for a Long Island man when he was stabbed in the stomach by a deranged driver.

The 44-year-old victim was stabbed around 2:37 p.m. Thursday in Manorville by Gregory Spina, 43, as the victim’s wife watched helplessly, police said.

A 32 year old football coach Leodina Ahamadah, was yesterday remanded in prison custody, by the Lagos State Magistrate Court, Igbosere, for allegedly raping a 9 – year – old boy.

Magistrate Mrs K.O Doja- Ojo, remanded the defendant in prison, pending the legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
