Court Grants Adoke ₦50 Million Bail

The Federal High Court, Abuja on Monday granted bail to former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Muhammed Bello Adoke.

Justice Abubakar Kultigi granted bail to Adoke in the sum of N50million and one surety.

Justice Kultigi admitted Adoke to bail in his ruling on the bail application filed by the defendant who is standing trial before the court on 42 count charge bordering on alleged Malabu Oil deal.

The court also granted bail to the second defendant Ahmed Aliyu in the sum of N50million with one surety.

Some people suspected to be political thugs, on Wednesday abducted the Chairman of Afijio Local Government area of Oyo State, Hon. Samuel Aderemi.

A Group of Mwagjhavul lawyers, on Wednesday, stormed the Police Command in Plateau to protest the invitation of their Paramount ruler, Da Nelson Bakfur for questioning as ordered by Gov. Simon Lalong.

Lalong had ordered the arrest of all Ardos (Fulani) and community leaders in four crisis ridden Local Government Areas of the State, including Mangu, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi and Riyom.

The governor’s order came on the heels of series of attacks in villages in Mangu and Bokkos local government areas within a span of two weeks that left many people dead.

A canine unit from the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) was Tuesday spotted sweeping through Zanu PF headquarters in an unexpected security operation that took both senior party officials and employees by surprise.

Rwandan authorities are seeking to formalize their abusive arrests and detention of some of the country’s most vulnerable children under the pretense of rehabilitating them, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today. Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court, Lagos, convicted and sentenced a woman, Alaba Kareem Adeyemi and her son, Damilola Ahmed Adeyemi, to three years imprisonment over fraud amounting $82,570.00.

The court convicted and sentenced the duo to the jail terms after they pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of conspiracy, internet fraud, obtaining under false pretence and impersonation levelled against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
