NSCDC Arrests Three Drug Dealers In Jigawa

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Jigawa State command, has arrested three suspected drugs dealers in Dutse.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the command’s spokesman, SV Adamu Shehu, issued to DAILY POST.

He explained that the suspects were arrested on 30/01/20 at around 2325hrs by operatives of the State Vigilante group on patrol at the Dutse Old Market, along Kiyawa Road and handed over to NSCDC Jigawa Command for proper investigation and prosecution.

The suspects, Mu’azu Umar (24), Adamu Ya’u (19) and Ibrahim Haruna (23) are residents of Fagoji quarters in Dutse LGA.

Taraba: Police Confirm Abduction Of NBA Vice Chairperson

The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the Vice Chairperson of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Jalingo branch, Zeinab Nashimi, on Friday evening.

The Police Public Relation Officer, DSP David Misar, confirmed the abduction when contacted by our correspondent on Saturday

Misar said the police were aware of abduction of one lawyer whose house is located behind Central Bank of Nigeria, By-Pass ATC, Jalingo.

Ex-Benue Gov Suswam Transferred ₦3.1bn To Me – Witness

An Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) star witness, on Friday alleged that Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of Benue, transferred ₦3.1 billion into his account.

Mr Abubakar Umar, an Abuja-based Bureau De Change (BDC) Operator, told Justice Okon Abang at the Federal High Court, Abuja that the money was transferred through a company, Elixir Investment, in bits into his company, Fanffash Resources at the Zenith Bank.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Suswam and the then Commissioner for Finance in his administration, Omadachi Oklobia, are being prosecuted before the court on N3.1 billion money laundering charges.

Weapons Used By Herdsmen Linked To Nigerian Sec. Agencies

Some of the weapons used in the conflicts between farmers and herders in the country have been traced to Nigerian security agencies, according to a report by Conflict Armament Research (CAR).

The international conflict research group said some of the weapons were traced to “stockpiles of Nigerian defence and security forces”.

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has sought for collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) to check malpractice in the conduct of the Council’s examination.

Chairman, Governing Board of NECO, Dr. Abubakar Saddique who led the Acting Registrar and other management teams on a visit to the Director-General of DSS in Abuja, said such collaboration would ensure the credibility of the Council’s examination.

Teenager Confirms Raping His 70-Year-Old Grandmother

The Plateau State Police Command on Friday confirmed the arrest of an 18-year-old man, Marvellous Luka, who allegedly raped his 70-year-old grandmother.

The police officer in charge of the case, Insp. Mulleng Alex, said that Luka, lives in Dangu-gu Village, Ampang West District of Mangu, Plateau.

CAN Disowns ‘Kaduna Pastor’ Who Faked Kidnap

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kaduna State chapter, on Thursday, disowned a self-aclaimed pastor who faked his kidnap at Trikaniya and Kudandan areas, in Chikun Local Government Area of the State.
