Criminals Taking Advantage Of Pandemic – Interpol

Crime has rapidly increased during the new coronavirus pandemic as criminals and organised gangs quickly adapt their methods, according to Interpol.

Investigators found increased cases of cybercrime, fraud, theft, and forgery, the European police authority warned in a report published in The Hague on Friday.

The report states that the sale of counterfeit protective articles including masks, disinfectant gels, and medicines has increased considerably since the crisis broke out.

In March, some 34,000 counterfeit surgical masks were seized during a worldwide police operation against counterfeit medicines, Europol said further.

Counterfeit drugs include antiviral drugs, the anti-malaria drug Chloroquine and vitamins.…

A woman has “deliberately” coughed on fresh food forcing a supermarket to throw away $35,000 (£28,500) of groceries.

Margaret Cirko, a 35-year-old woman, has also been arrested in connection with the incident, according to Sky News.

The New York-based rights group released a report on Monday, claiming Egypt has, since 2013, detained and abused children as young as 12 as part of a crackdown on dissent against the country’s military government.

The couple; a 23-year-old Egyptian man and 40-year-old Tunisian woman were caught in the act on a road in Mecenate near Milan which has been heavily hit by the outbreak.
