Reports reaching Africa Daily News, New York shows an unknown number of terrorists suspected to be factional fighters from the Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP, on Monday afternoon, ambushed a convoy of military vehicles along the Maiduguri-Damaturu road.

Travellers along the route said the incident occurred at about 3:00pm in Jakana village, leaving many casualties.

Another traveler said villagers in Jakana told them that only one of the vehicles in the military convoy managed to escape the ambush.

Two police officers were killed Saturday in the city of McAllen in southern Texas while responding to a domestic disturbance call and the suspect shot himself dead, local authorities said.

There is an alleged plot to frustrate the probe of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the ongoing investigation of its suspended chairman, Ibrahim Magu, after some unknown people broke into the office of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and destroyed computers.
