NDLEA Seizes Cocaine, Heroin Worth N30bn At Lagos Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have disclosed that, cocaine worth at least over N30 billion was seized at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos in one week, this was according to senior officials of the agency.

Just before the seizure, the new Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa had pledged to dismantle drug trafficking cartels across Nigeria, warning those in the illicit deal to desist from it.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Thursday, amended the criminal charges it filed against a former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr. Bello Adoke (SAN), Mr. Aliyu Abubakar, and five others over their alleged roles in the multi-billion dollar Malabu Oil scam which the Anti-graft Agency is prosecuting.

Boko Haram Kills Nine Soldiers In Nasarawa

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have killed nine military officers during a rescue operation in a forest along Mararaba-Udege road in Nasarawa state linking Otukpo Oweto in Benue state.

The slain soldiers led to the forest by an officer Felix Kura, an indigene of Benue state, were Iliya Kefas, Bati Yakubu, and other young officers whose names cannot be identified immediately.

Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho on Friday made an appearance at Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, to declare that Fulani herdsmen must leave the area.

NAF Acquires 3 Aircraft For Maritime Operations

The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has revealed that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has acquired three new aircraft for maritime operations in the Niger Delta.

Abubakar disclosed this at the inauguration of a block of 30 one-bedroom living quarters and a Computerized Tomography Scan facility for officers at the 115 Special Operations Group in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

He said the acquisition of three additional aircraft was part of the ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to re-equip and professionalise the air force.

Nigeria Frees 4,000 Inmates Due To Logistics

The federal government said logistics was the major reason more than 4,000 inmates were released from prisons across Nigeria.

Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, spoke on Tuesday at the inauguration of 53 operational vehicles purchased for the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

He said those released benefited from the Federal Government Amnesty Programme launched in April 2020.
