Ondo Amotekun Arrests Nine Herders, Sieze 100 Cows

Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network called Amotekun Corps on Tuesday arrested nine herders and seized 100 cows along the Akure-Ilesa highway.

According to the security outfit, the herders were arrested for flouting Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s directives that herdsmen should get registered.

They were also apprehended for violating grazing rules on the highway.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has ranked Nigeria as one of the countries worst affected by internet crimes in 2020.

The 2020 Internet Crime Report of the FBI Complaint Centre (IC3) listed Africa’s most populous nation as the 16th.

In a statement, Paul Abbate, FBI Deputy Director, said IC3 received a record number of complaints from Americans in 2020: 791,790, with reported losses
exceeding $4.1 billion. The figure represents a 69% increase in total complaints from 2019.

There is tension in Wasinmi village, Irewole LGA of Osun State as Six herdsmen who are members of the same family, were on Sunday killed by unknown gunmen.

Abductors Of Kaduna Students Release Video, Demand ₦500M

The kidnappers who abducted 39 students from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Afaka, Igabi local government area of Kaduna state have demanded ₦500 million for their release after putting out a video to prove that the students are in their custody.

At least three parents of some of the abducted students have confirmed to news correspondents that the abductors have reached out and made a demand of N500 million.

Almost simultaneously, the kidnappers have released three videos showing the students in what appeared to be a forest.

Unknown gunmen on Friday stormed the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Mando, Kaduna State and abducted students in the school.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige who confirmed the incident to newsmen said the exact number of students abducted is currently unknown.

Security operatives saved the Surulere Baptist School in Ilorin on Monday from being set ablaze by unidentified hoodlums.

Armed bandits in the early hour of Saturday attacked the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, quarters, at the Kaduna airport and abducted 9 persons.

Those kidnapped included a family of 6 and another housewife and her two children.

It was gathered that the bandits gained access to the quarters through the airport runway, at about 12.30am.

Again, Fulani Herdsmen Attack Amotekun Officials In Oyo

At least three people have sustained injuries following a bloody clash between Fulani and Yoruba at Aba Abugudu Market in the Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State.

According to reports, two officials of Amotekun and a vigilante were injured during the fight which happened on Monday, March 1.

The Amotekun operatives identified as Michael Oguntade and Yekini Tijani and the vigilante were trying to break the fight when a Fulani man drew out his cutlass and attacked them and inflicted varying degrees of injuries on them.

It was definitely a painful Tuesday for Senator Gabriel Suswam, a former Governor of Benue State as Gunmen killed his elder brother Chief Terkula Suswam.

He was reportedly shot dead at his residence in Anyin, a rural community in Logo Local Government Area of Benue.
