Bishop Aderogba, Wife, Others Finally Regain Freedom

After two tumultous nights in the captivity of their abductors, the Anglican Bishop of Jebba Anglican Diocese, Kwara State, Rt. Rev Oluwaseun Aderogba, his wife and their driver who were recently abducted have finally regained their freedom.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed this in a statement.

The statement reads “The Massive deployment of Police personnel for the operation to rescue the victims and the domination of these entire area by the Police Tactical teams pressurized the abductors into freeing the victims,”,

Also stating the victims were released unhurt at about 18:20 pm on Tuesday.…

In a fresh development, the Bauchi Commissioner of Police, Umar Sanda has ordered an immediate probe into the setting ablaze of a suspected thief of a motorcycle at Chinade community in Katagum Local Government Area of the state.

A middle-aged man, whose identity had not been determined, was attacked by a mob who beat him to a pulp and later set him ablaze for alleged theft of a motorcycle on Sunday.

Sanda stated this in a statement signed by the Spokesman of the command, SP Ahmed Wakili, made available to newsmen in Bauchi.

No fewer than 50 civilians have been killed following attacks by suspected jihadists in northern Burkina Faso, government spokesman Lionel Bilgo said Monday, in one of the bloodiest clashes since a military coup in January.

‘The army has so far found 50 bodies’ after the village of Seytenga was attacked yesterday, Bilgo said, adding that the toll ‘may rise.’
