Nigerian troops operating under Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted two pickup vans carrying logistics believed to be destined for Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in Borno State, the military said.

The interception was carried out by troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North East, following intelligence reports indicating the movement of supplies from Dapchi in Yobe State toward the Magumeri axis of Borno, according to a military statement released in Maiduguri.

The military said the operation was launched after credible intelligence alerted troops to suspected terrorist supply routes in the area. Acting in coordination with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), soldiers deployed tactically and stopped the vehicles along the identified corridor.

Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, said the swift response prevented the materials from reaching terrorist elements operating in the region.

Security forces recovered a wide range of items from the intercepted vehicles, underscoring what the military described as a structured supply network.

Items seized included 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, 12 ignition key starters, three alternators, two bicycles, and two civilian vehicles. Also recovered were food supplies and household items such as bags of flour and charcoal, tubers of yam, garri, blankets, clothing for adults and children, a mattress, as well as six mobile phones, a power bank, and cash in various denominations.

The drivers of the vehicles were taken into military custody, along with the recovered materials, for further interrogation.

Lt. Col. Uba said the suspects are being questioned to determine their level of involvement and to support ongoing counterterrorism investigations.

He added that troops under Operation Hadin Kai remain committed to disrupting terrorist logistics, restricting freedom of movement for insurgents, and protecting civilians across Nigeria’s North-East.

The Nigerian military has intensified operations in Borno and neighboring states as part of broader efforts to weaken ISWAP and Boko Haram factions by targeting supply lines, financiers, and mobility networks.
