Victor Osimhen and Galatasaray’s squad have received Hongqi E-HS9 electric SUVs in a deal that reflects the club’s commitment to sustainable mobility.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and his Galatasaray teammates have been handed a fleet of electric luxury vehicles as part of a new collaboration between the Turkish champions and Chinese automaker Hongqi, one of China’s oldest premium car brands.
The agreement, facilitated by Turkey’s Yenikoy Motors, provides every first-team player with the Hongqi E-HS9, a fully electric, full-size SUV positioned as the manufacturer’s flagship model. Although Osimhen was away on international duty with Nigeria when the delivery was made, several of his teammates have already taken delivery.
Footage shared by Yenikoy Motors shows winger Yunus Akgun and other players collecting the vehicles at a presentation in Istanbul. The video, which quickly circulated on Turkish and Nigerian social media, captured the squad exploring the SUV’s tech-focused interior and taking short test drives around the club grounds.
The Hongqi E-HS9 has drawn attention in global automotive circles for its advanced technology, including LTE-V2X, a communication system designed to improve safety by allowing vehicles to interact with their surroundings and other road users. The SUV combines a luxury-styled cabin with high-performance electric powertrains, underscoring the growing competition among Asian manufacturers in the premium EV market.

Founded in 1958 and now part of the state-owned FAW Group, Hongqi has positioned itself as a challenger to established European luxury brands. Its partnership with Galatasaray is one of the company’s highest-profile sports collaborations to date, aimed at expanding visibility in Turkey and across Europe.
For Osimhen, the new team-issued vehicle adds to an already notable personal collection. Earlier this year, the forward purchased a 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, a model widely regarded as one of the world’s most luxurious SUVs. The Cullinan, powered by a V12 engine and known for its handcrafted interior, carries an estimated price approaching $472,000.
Galatasaray fans have welcomed the introduction of the electric fleet, praising the club for embracing sustainability while maintaining its reputation for glamour. Supporters in both Turkey and Nigeria commented online that the addition of the Hongqi SUVs reflects a wider shift among major football clubs toward eco-friendly mobility options.
Osimhen is expected to join his teammates in Istanbul soon, where the full squad will be seen driving the new vehicles throughout the season as part of the club’s branding partnership.
