A 26-year-old Palestinian man was shot and killed by Israeli forces during an overnight raid on the Far’a refugee camp near the town of Tubas in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian officials.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the victim as Abdel Rahman Darawsha, who was struck by live fire when Israeli troops entered the camp late Saturday. The official Wafa news agency reported that Darawsha was rushed by Palestine Red Crescent medics to Tubas Governmental Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses told local media that Israeli forces surrounded the camp, deployed infantry units at its entrances, and fired live ammunition during the operation. Similar raids were also reported in and around Jenin, Ramallah, and northern East Jerusalem, as tensions continue to rise across the occupied territory.
The Israeli military has not immediately commented on the incident, though it regularly conducts night-time raids in the West Bank, saying they target suspected militants. Palestinian officials and rights groups have condemned the frequency and intensity of these operations, saying they often result in civilian deaths and arrests.
Separately, about 50 Israeli settlers attacked a Bedouin community east of Jaba village, near occupied East Jerusalem, on Sunday, injuring at least seven Palestinians and setting fire to several structures, Wafa said. Another resident was wounded in a separate settler assault in Umm al-Khair, south of Hebron, where attackers reportedly torched property and livestock shelters.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said last week that October recorded the highest number of settler attacks in the West Bank since it began documenting such incidents in 2006, more than 260 assaults, averaging eight per day. The UN agency said many of these attacks resulted in injuries, property destruction, or both.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, more than 1,000 Palestinians in the West Bank have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers since Israel’s war in Gaza began in October 2023. During the same period, Israeli authorities say 43 Israelis, including soldiers, have been killed in attacks carried out by Palestinians in the territory.
The escalation in the West Bank has drawn growing concern from the United Nations, humanitarian organizations, and regional governments, who warn that unchecked violence could further destabilize the already volatile area.
