Zenith Bank rewarded three Yobe students who won the global TeenEagle competition in London with the huge sum of ₦5m each, for academic excellence.
Zenith Bank Plc has awarded a total of ₦15 million to three Nigerian students from Yobe State who emerged champions at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London. The students — Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli — earned top honors at the prestigious international competition, bringing pride to their state and country. Each winner was presented with ₦5 million in recognition of their achievements.
The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank, Dame Adaora Umeoji, made the announcement through the bank’s General Manager for the North, Abubakar Goronyo, during a ceremony held in Yobe.
“This gesture is to encourage these brilliant young Nigerians to continue striving for excellence,” Goronyo said on behalf of the bank’s leadership. “Their victory is not just for their school or for Yobe State, but for Nigeria and the world at large.”
The TeenEagle competition is an international academic contest that tests students’ skills in language, debate, and problem-solving. This year’s edition drew participants from several countries, making the Nigerian students’ victory particularly significant.

Mr. Shahbaz Malik, Principal of the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) Yobe branch, expressed gratitude to Zenith Bank for supporting the champions. He said the recognition would inspire other students to aim higher.

Speaking on behalf of the winners, Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, who emerged as the overall best in English Language Skills, thanked Zenith Bank for the support.
“This award motivates us to keep working hard and to represent Nigeria even better on the global stage,” she said.
