Rihanna, a Global music icon, has given birth to her third child, a daughter, and revealed that the baby’s name carries a nod to the singer’s Irish heritage.
The 37-year-old Barbadian star shared the news on X, posting a photo of herself holding the newborn with the caption: “Rocki Irish Mayers, Sept 13 2025.” The announcement immediately drew worldwide attention from fans and media outlets.
Rihanna, known for chart-topping hits such as Umbrella and Rude Boy, has often spoken about her diverse background. Her late father, Ronald Fenty, was of Barbadian and Irish descent, and Irish media have long connected the Fenty surname to County Cork, where the name Fenton has historical roots. The choice of “Irish” as her daughter’s middle name is seen by many as a tribute to this lineage.
Rocki is the singer’s third child with American rapper A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers. The couple, who confirmed their relationship publicly in 2020, are already parents to two sons — RZA, born in May 2022, and Riot Rose, born in August 2023.
The pair announced their latest pregnancy in May during an appearance at the Met Gala in New York. At the time, Rocky told reporters he was eager to share the news, saying: “It feels amazing… we’re glad everybody’s happy for us because we’re definitely happy.”
