Juventus have reached agreement with RB Leipzig for striker Loïs Openda, setting the stage for a high-stakes transfer just as their pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain unraveled.

According to Football Italia and Africa Digital News, Openda will arrive in Turin today to undergo medical tests as part of a loan deal with an obligation to buy—structured around €40 million. Reports confirm the package is slightly over that figure, with the move now virtually secured.

This deal comes on the heels of Juventus’s failure to agree terms for Muani, whose return from PSG had been a long-sought target. With PSG demanding high fees, Juventus encountered financial constraints. Reports earlier indicated Muani—who impressed on loan at Juventus—was slipping out of reach as negotiations stalled.

Openda steps in as a viable alternative. The 25-year-old Belgian forward tallied 9 goals and 5 assists in the 2024–25 Bundesliga season and boasts prolific scoring records with Lens and Leipzig. Juventus appear confident Openda will add vital pace and clinical finishing to their attack.

Alongside Openda, Edon Zhegrova is also in Turin to complete a move from Lille. Juventus agreed a deal worth around €20 million plus bonuses, and Zhegrova is undergoing a medical today ahead of signing a contract reportedly running until 2030.

The dual signings of Openda and Zhegrova highlight Juventus’s strategic pivot amid transfer window pressures. With Muani off the table, the club is shifting decisively to secure reinforcements that align with financial prudence and squad needs.

Both arrivals underscore Juventus’s urgency to finalize critical deals before the transfer window closes. If medicals proceed smoothly, Openda and Zhegrova will join the squad imminently—providing fresh impetus as the season intensifies.
