Five Turkish defense companies have secured places in the 2025 Defense News Top 100, underscoring Türkiye’s growing influence in the global defense industry.
Aselsan led the group, ranking 43rd with $3.54 billion in revenue. Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) followed at 47th, with Roketsan at 71st, Asfat at 78th, and MKE at 80th.
Several firms showed significant upward momentum. TAI climbed three spots from last year, ASFAT rose 16 places, and MKE gained four.
Haluk Görgün, head of Türkiye’s Defense Industries Presidency, praised the achievement as proof of the nation’s long-term strategy. “Our sustainable growth strategy is not only a guarantee of today’s success but also of tomorrow’s global leadership,” he said on NSosyal, a Turkish social media platform. He credited engineers, industry collaboration, and public trust for the country’s steady rise.
The annual Defense News list tracks revenue and influence across the global defense sector. This year, the United States dominated with 48 companies on the list, including six of the top ten. Lockheed Martin retained its No. 1 position with $68.39 billion in revenue, followed by RTX and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. Northrop Grumman and General Dynamics rounded out the top five.
European and Asian firms also featured prominently. The U.K.’s BAE Systems ranked sixth, while Boeing, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, L3Harris Technologies, and France’s Thales completed the top ten.

In total, the rankings included six companies from the United Kingdom, five each from Türkiye, France, and China, four from Germany, and three each from South Korea and Israel.
Türkiye’s steady ascent reflects its push for greater self-reliance in defense technology. From drones and missile systems to advanced aerospace projects, the country has made indigenous development central to its strategy. Officials say the goal is not only to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers but also to establish a stronger export presence in global markets.
“The Turkish defense industry will continue to rise with its strong projection, innovative vision, and goal of complete independence,” Mr. Görgün said.
