Manchester United have submitted an improved offer to Royal Antwerp for goalkeeper Senne Lammens, according to multiple sources. The 23-year-old Belgian is now set to decide whether to accept the move—and reports indicate he would undergo his medical today if the deal proceeds.

Sources close to the negotiations confirm that the clubs are edging closer to agreement. Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester United and Antwerp are in very advanced talks, with Lammens having already agreed to personal terms and Royal Antwerp valuing the transfer at approximately €25 million (£22 million) including add-ons.

The goalkeeper has been notably omitted from Antwerp’s matchday squads, further signaling a potential imminent transfer. Belgian journalists say the club is “very confident” a deal can be finalized before the weekend.

Sky Sports indicates the two sides are discussing a transfer in the £17 million range, structured to reach about £17.3 million, reinforcing the notion that negotiations are progressing. Additionally, ESPN reports that United are not looking to replace current starter André Onana but rather strengthen the squad with a future prospect, with Altay Bayindir’s position potentially affected by Lammens’ arrival.

Manager Rúben Amorim has stressed the importance of depth and competition among goalkeepers. With Onana likely out for part of the season due to the Africa Cup of Nations and inconsistent performances from backups, securing Lammens offers strategic reinforcement.

Lammens, who has established himself as Royal Antwerp’s first-choice keeper this season (with 52 league appearances to date), would bring youth and shot-stopping prowess to Old Trafford. He has publicly expressed interest in the move, calling United “one of the best clubs.”

In short: The transfer appears imminent, contingent only on Lammens’ personal approval and medical results expected as soon as today.
