The 21-year-old, who spent the 2023/24 season on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, did not train with Leipzig on Tuesday, instead devoting his time to discussions regarding his next move.
According to reports, Simons is currently in London as talks accelerate with two Premier League clubs — Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur — both of whom are pushing hard to secure his signature before the close of the summer transfer window. Leipzig, when approached, confirmed his absence from training and clarified that the midfielder’s status is linked directly to the ongoing negotiations.
