Real Reason Many States Are Flooded In Nigeria – FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria has explained that contrary to widely held beliefs, water from the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon is not responsible for the flooding that has devastated parts of Nigeria. 

While the Senate Committee on Water Resources, like many Nigerians, was of the view that water released from Lagdo Dam in Cameroon was responsible for the devastating flood in many parts of the country, the Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, said that was not the case.

The Nigerian Senate has summoned the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Umana Okon Umana, over an alleged plot to divert ₦480 billion intervention fund which belongs to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and domiciled it in the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, without the approval of the National Assembly.

The Minister has been told to appear before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, chaired by Senator Ayo Akinyelure (PDP Ondo Central) upon receipt of petition being investigated by the panel.
