NMA Asks FG To Declare State Of Emergency In Health Sector

A  recent call for the Federal Government of Nigeria to as a matter of urgency declare a full state of emergency in the health sector for the sake of  all the Nigerian citizens has been openly made by the Taraba State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).

Dr Bako Ali who is the state chairman had also made the call on Monday, in Jalingo, the state capital which had occurred during an interactive session with some of the media practitioners in preparation for 2022 Physician Week.

We Didn’t Sign Agreement With FG To Quit Strike – ASUU

In a bid to set the records about the details of the strike action straight, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has made a fresh disclosure that no agreement had actually been signed between them and the federal government before they had called off the eight month strike.

The President of ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke had made this disclosure on Monday during a meeting with some of  the leadership of the House of Representatives.

542 Nigerians Stranded In UAE Returned Home

About 542 Nigerians who were stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been successfully evacuated and returned to their homes.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that the returnees were received on Sunday by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

They arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja via a Max Air chartered flight at 4:29 a.m.

The citizens comprised 79 males, 460 females, and three infants, according to a statement by NEMA spokesperson, Manzo Ezekiel.

They were screened by health officials, profiled by various relevant agencies, and cleared by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).

More Woes For Kogi As Fuel Hits ₦230/L Amidst Flood

Commuters in Kogi were left with deep frowns of disgust as some of the Lokoja-Okene bound drivers had openly expressed their hearfelt displeasure on Sunday as fuel prices had hit at least ₦230 per litre in Okene and the Lokoja local government areas of Kogi State.
