60 Killed In Seoul Halloween Party Stampede, 150 Injured

Fifty-nine people and more have been confirmed dead in a massive crush which had occurred during a huge Halloween crowd stampede which had taken place in a popular nightlife area of South Korea’s capital.

Yonhap news agency had also cited some of the emergency services who had revealed that 150 more had also been injured in Seoul’s Itaewon district.

Julius Berger Shuts Down Operations Over Terror Alert

In lieu of the recent terorr alert given out by the United States of America, top construction giants, Julius Berger have on Saturday, shut down most of their operations in Abuja and its environs.

It can also be recalled that the United States and the United Kingdom had a few days ago, issued serious travel advisories over possible terror attacks in the Federal Capital Territory(FCT).

Putin Set To Host Talks Between Rivals Azerbaijan, Armenia

The Kremlin has confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will host talks in Sochi on Monday between the leaders of arch-foes Armenia and Azerbaijan.

‘On the initiative of the Russian side, tripartite negotiations between… Putin, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will be held on October 31 in Sochi,’ the Kremlin said in a statement.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have fought two wars over the Nagorno-Karabakh region in three decades.

Deadly clashes in September along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border have raised fears of a fresh all-out conflict.

Kanu: Appeal Court Orders Transmission Of Records To S’Court

The Court of Appeal has charged the Supreme Court an expeditious hearing in the Federal Government’s appeal against its judgment that discharged Nnamdi Kanu from the charges brought against him by the Federal reserve bothering on terrorism.

To this end, the Appellate Court on Friday ordered its own Registry to compile and transmit to the Supreme Court within seven days the record of appeal in respect of the judgment delivered on October 13.

The Appellate Court in a ruling on Friday in Abuja also ordered that counsel for the parties, (Kanu and Federal Government) are to settle the records immediately …

Abuja Terror Alert: Why We Raided Trademore Estate – DSS

The Nigerian secret police otherwise known as the Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed the raid on Trademore Estate in Abuja as tension in the capital city brews.

Dr. Peter Afunanya who is the spokesman for the DSS, who confirmed the raid, noted that there was no joint operation with foreign military.

In a statement obtained by Vanguard, Afunanya said: “It is true that an operation was carried out by DSS operatives and the Nigerian military but no foreign military personnel was involved.
