Bandits Killed 10 Teachers, Kidnapped 50 In Kaduna – AUSUSS

The Kaduna State chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), has made an open allegation that some of the bandits who have been besieging the State have massacred over 10 teachers and have also kidnapped more than 50 others across the 23 local government areas of the state since January.

The Union had also made an open call on Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i to use every means possible to rescue most of the unfortunate teachers and other kidnapped victims still in captivity.

The section of the Nigerian House of Representatives Committee who have been in charge of investigating for the duplication of functions of Ministries, Departments and Agencies In Nigeria have on Wednesday discussed the major possibility of actually merging the Nigeria Communications Commission and also the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

FG Registers Two Varsity Unions, Moves To Weaken ASUU

In a bid to weaken the influence of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Federal Government of Nigeria, on Tuesday, registered two unions in the university system.

The unions are the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics and the Congress of Nigerian University Academics.

The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, made this known while speaking during the presention of the certificates of registration to the two unions explained that the two bodies will exist alongside ASUU.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reiterated its commitment and readiness to rid the forthcoming 2023 general election of vote-buying through its existing partnership with the security and anti-graft agencies in the country.
