Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has disclosed that the 2023 elections might make or break the country if care is not taken.

Obasanjo also told leaders of the various religions in Nigeria not to allow politicians wreck Nigeria, saying the entire country would regret it if such is allowed.

Obasanjo stated this when the new President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Reverend Daniel Okoh, visited him at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Penthouse residence, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, did not endorse the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for the 2023 presidential election, the Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie, said Wednesday.

In a statement titled, ‘Rumours of Obaseki endorsement of Peter Obi, false’, Osagie said the news was ‘absolutely false and malicious.’

He added that the news was ‘being peddled by detractors with ulterior motives, intent on misleading and misinforming members of the public for their selfish interest.’

Prince Salman Emerges Saudi Arabia New Prime Minister

In a cabinet reshuffle by King Salman, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has emerged the prime minister of the kingdom.

This was contained in a royal decree published by the official Saudi Press Agency.

Prince Mohammed, 37,  is already de facto ruler of the kingdom and the appointment formalises his role as leader of the government.

The crown prince, known by his initials MBS, previously served as deputy prime minister as well as defence minister. He is being replaced as defence minister by his younger brother, Khalid bin Salman, who was deputy defence minister.

A Federal High Court sitting In Abuja on Wednesday ordered the immediate arrest of a British national, James Nolan, for jumping bail in a fraud case involving the P&ID firm.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, issued this order after Nolan, who is a director in the Process and Industrial Development Limited (P&ID) failed to appear for trial.

Nolan is being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) along with Lurgi Consult Limited and others,  in  a money laundering case to the tune of $9.6 billion.

On Wednesday, a Monster Hurricane Ian walloped Florida blasting down the southern US state’s coast with extreme wind and rain, and causing ‘catastrophic’ flooding from destructive storm surges.
