ECOWAS Reveals Efforts Towards Ending Racism In World Peace Day

As the world gets to commemorate the International Day of Peace, Dr Omar Touray who is the President of the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS), has finally made an open call for some more stakeholders’ collaboration which would be geared towards the promotion of peace, equality and the process of ending racism as well.

The president had also made the call at an occasion which had been marking the World Peace Day and the launching of a documentary on the ECOWAS Conflict Prevention Framework, (ECPF), at the ECOWAS commission, yesterday in Abuja.

Oil Theft: PENGASSAN Fingers Military, Other Top Security Officers

Comrade Festus Osifo who is the President of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has on Wednesday revealed that some of the heads of the Nigerian Military, Police and other security agencies had also colluded to pilfer and embezzle crude oil in the Niger Delta.

The President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan has asserted that the generation and collection of revenues have remained the country’s major challenges as well as the massive loss of revenue through oil theft, now  ‘debilitating and threatening to throw the economy into a coma.’

The Nigerian Army has revealed that seventeen Boko Haram terrorists, including their families have surrendered to troops of 151 Task Force Battalion deployed to Banki-Junction in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the list of 80 successful candidates, including Governor David Umahi, for the 2023 National Assembly elections in Ebonyi State.

The state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Joseph Chukwu, made this known at a news briefing at the INEC headquarters in Abakaliki on Tuesday.
